When I Had First Met You

When I Had First Met You

T'was the night before Christmas
When I had first met you
As your cousin yelled your name out, I thought to myself,
What to do

Could it really be him?
The one they always talked about?
You walked towards me, smiled
And stuck your hand out

I shook your hand
As surprised as I had been
We exchanged numbers as I looked at your cousin
Who had a grin

We talked a few times,
Thinking to myself, another "thing"
But I knew it was more,
More than just a fling

The more and more we talked,
The more and more you got to me
I tried to hold back
But there was something that I can see

Maybe it was the way you made me feel
Good, inside and out
Yet how can I trust you
I didn't know what you were all about

I have learned that you are different
Different from others
Your someone special to me,
Someone who is not just "another"

Being with you makes me feel something
I have never felt before
The way I feel when I'm with you makes me realize,
Realize that there could be more

So now we've reached Valentine's Day
One day that is never good for me
But now that you are my valentine,
All is good from what i see

Hopefully, all will turn out good between us
Maybe something will come out of this
But if all turns out bad, do one thing for me:
Cherish my last kiss
