My Blackbird
My Blackbird
My blackbird has brought such pleasure,
Singing on high, he's such a treasure,
First bird to appear, the world is his own,
I open my window to hear the beautiful tone,
He sings for an hour, then off he goes,
Leaving his tower for places he knows,
He really stands out with his lovely black feathers,
And still sings his song in all kinds of weathers,
I'll miss him when he has gone,
And the nesting is done,
But long for next Spring,
When again, for me, he will sing,
By Grace Sarah
