A Tear of Hope / Complete
/ Each Day
A Tear of Hope
A tear of hope I saw today
Upon the face of a child,
Turning to me with a half-hearted smile-
A tear upon her rosy cheek.
Placing her small hand inside my own,
I blinked my eyes and she was grown.
A tear of hope I saw once more
Upon the face of a bride,
Turning to me with a smile-
A tear upon her rosy cheek.
Placing her hand inside my own,
I blinked my eyes and she was gone.
A tear of hope I saw once more
Upon the face of a mother,
Turning to her new-born child
With a smile, a tear upon her rosy cheek.
Taking the tiny hands inside her own,
I thought watching them, "Oh, how swiftly
Time slips away for a mother and a child."
And with a tear of hope, a smile upon my face
I left them there together-a child and a-
Mother...

It's not the things that are far away,
The things beyond our reach,
The things we only dream about
-That makes our life complete.
It's the little things that money can't buy
-A kiss, a hug, a kind word when we try,
That brings everything within our reach,
That changes dreams to reality,
That makes our life complete.

Each Day
In youth one lives each day
thinking of tomorrows
And what can be done.
In old age one lives each day thinking of yesterdays
And what has been done.
In reality one lives each day one day at a time!
