In the Playground
In the Playground
Mid-summer's nights of long ago,
you and I would walk and whisper
Every word spoken I still know,
and emotions shared I always remember.
Where are you now,
I sometimes wonder,
when I am alone,
and my heart hungers.
We walked through parks late at night,
and discussed how to make the world right.
We would sit on the swings and talk philosophy,
and kiss
and talk
endlessly.
As I sit here and think of that when,
the stars shine in a night of deep blue.
I smile and think of back then,
and in the playground Monique, I miss you.
