1st place poem  "What you mean to me" 

What you mean to me 
No matter how hard I try I can’t express what I feel inside 
The love that you’ve given me through the years 
The ways you found to wipe my tears 
All the days you stood by my side 
Words aren’t enough to show my pride 
When I look at the sun I see your face 
You’re always there with a warm embrace 
I love you more each day it’s true 
I love you for all the things that you do 
What did I do to deserve a gift such as this? 
In you I was granted my every wish 
Through the years I’ve learned to stand and be strong 
Knowing that in you I can find where I belong 
I only wish one day to find 
A way to express a love so divine

Young Black women strong and bright
Young Black women no ones always right
Young Black women God knows your heart
Young Black women from you he'll never depart
Young Black women always strong
Young Black women just hold on
Young Black women don't be scared
Young Black women in your heart you know he cares
Young Black women you'll be all right
Young Black women let God hold you tight
Young Black women believe and you'll grow
Young Black women listen to your heart and you'll always know

Completely yours I want to be
Completely yours why can't you see
Completely yours yes all of me
Completely yours how can that be
Completely yours hold on to me
Completely yours why can't you see
Completely yours this fact is true
Completely yours in all I do
Completely yours always there
Completely yours yes I care
Completely yours when I'm away
Completely yours I will stay
Completely yours I'll have your back
Completely yours no need for attack
Completely yours I'll be true
Completely yours through and through
Completely mine I want you to be
Completely mine for eternity
Completely mine if you'll stay
Completely mine I'll never go away

Love me for my mind
Love me because I'm kind
Love me in all that you do
Love me the way I love you
Love me for my soul
Love me and loose control
Love me the way you love life
Love me for all that is right
Love me and I'll be true
Love me and I'll take care of you
Love me for things that I say
Love me and I'll never go away

Give it to me 
Why can you see
The Hurt The Pain and even The Shame
I've given my life as a sacrifice
SO old and young and every tongue 
Would praise my name, to lessen their pain 
But will you really know, the love I always show
How can you see, to trust in me 
I say this day, I'll never go away
Always there, yes I care
So Give it to Me
Why can't you see
The Hurt The Pain and even The Shame
To show my love, from up above 
I've placed in your life, a way to fight 
So if you say my name today
All your pain will go away
I love you more this I'm sure
So open your hearts don't close the door
Because if you do I'll shine through
And you will see it's all me 
I leave you with this one great fact 
The Lord has always had your back

"My life My Love From Up Above "

My life My Love From Up Above everyday he shows his love

He shows me love when morning comes with one 
sweet word form his tongue
He shows me love with a silent breeze
He shows me love in the sway of the trees
He shows me love on rainy days
He shows me love in the sun's bright rays

My life My love From Up Above everyday he shows his love

He shows me love when I'm down
He shows me love and turns things around
He shows me love when I pray
He shows me love in every way

My life My love From Up Above I am very thankful that you show me love

"Sister know"

Sister know what a gift you are
Sister know how wonderful you are
Sister know God's your strength
Sister know he'll go the length
Sister know your more than a conqueror
Sister know that with God no man can stop you
Sister know you're the head and not the tail
Sister know you'll always prevail
Sister know you're in God's hands
Sister know he understands
Sister know that when you're down God's love can turn it around
Sister know when to pray
Sister know he'll be there right away
Sister know you're a precious jewel
Sister know don't be a fool
Sister know with a little faith all your sins he will erase
Sister know I love you too
Sister know this is true

"Think of me"

Think of me when your down
Think of me and I'll always be around
Think of me and you will see our love was really meant to be
Think of me as a friend who'll be there till thy end
Think of me as your sister because I know you really miss her
Think of me like a mother when you really long to huge her
Think of me as your father though sometimes he doesn't bother
Think of me when skies are blue because you my love is true
Think of me when it is cold, I'll be there for you to hold
Think of me when life is great even though sometimes you may hate
Think of me when you loose control
Think of me and I'll save your soul
Think of me when you're lost because my son I've paid the cost
Think of me and you will see a life, a love, a way to be
So please my child Think of Me

"Am I Chosen"

In the back of my mind as time passes on I wonder Am I Chosen?

My purpose in life I don't know which way is right tell me Am I Chosen?

Not much going on around me but yet no one has found me do you know Am I Chosen?

What do I do? What do I say? Should I pray? Should it be today? I still wonder Am I Chosen?

One day I heard the Lord say these words "Trust in me I am your answer. My son was given as a gift to you so that you could forever be with me. Now wake up each morning rejoicing and be thankful for the day he gave his life away."

So when you wonder if you'll ever go under rebuke the devourer because you have the power and know that you are Chosen.
